Songkran Water Festival is the Thai traditional new year celebration. The Buddhist Society of Wat Pak Nam New Zealand would like to invite everybody to join their Songkran celebrations.
Schedule:
10.00am Gate open
10:30 am Official opening ceremony
11:00am various Thai performances (by Thai who live in Bay of Plenty) will commence. e.g. dancing, singing, games, fruit & vege carving, a jumping castle, Thailand\'s Tuk tuk rides, lucky dips, Amazing 50!, beauty contest, best Thai costume & lots more.
Thai food will be available for purchase by Thai Restaurants in Tauranga & Rotorua. Prizes given to the best Thai costume.
Everybody & the young at heart are welcome to "fully participate" in the event by bringing along their water pistols. Water fights between all and sundry who want to play normally break out early afternoon.
Tickets available from Wat Paknam New Zealand or on the door.
The Buddhist religious ceremony will be held separately at Wat Paknam NZ on 13th April, 2013.
